Mini Excavators vs Medium Excavators: Choosing the Right Tonnage

Tonnage is the first decision you must make when importing an excavator. Getting it wrong can lead to underpowered performance or wasted fuel. Here is how to choose between Mini and Medium excavators: Mini Excavators (1 to 6 Tons) like the Kubota KX155 are highly versatile, agile, and operate perfectly in confined residential areas, farms, and urban utilities. They are light enough to be transported on a standard utility trailer and have rubber tracks that won't damage concrete pavements. Medium Excavators (13 to 25 Tons) like the CAT 320D or Komatsu PC200 are the workhorses of the construction industry. They are designed for large-scale earthmoving, deep trenching, road building, and pipeline laying. If your project involves digging deeper than 4 meters or lifting heavy pipe blocks, a medium excavator is absolutely mandatory.
